Communication Series – Topic 2: Clarity in Communication

Part 1: Theory & Frameworks | Part 2: Practical Application & Games

We’ve all seen it happen. We attend a communication workshop, diligently take notes on powerful theories, and nod along with the frameworks.

Then, we return to our desks and write the same confusing emails and lead the same meandering meetings. Why doesn’t the learning stick?

After refining my “Clarity in Communication” series, I’m convinced the answer lies in a two-stage approach.

I recently had the privilege of running this with a group of sharp executives from a leading digital transformation company, and the results reaffirmed this belief.

Day 1: Building the Blueprint.

Our first session was a deep dive into the architecture of clarity. We diagnosed the problem, exploring the real business and personal costs of ambiguous messages.

We laid the foundation by covering the foundational pillars: how to find your ONE point, how to eliminate soul-crushing clutter, and how to design a message, both written and spoken, that is impossible to misunderstand. It was all about the “what” and the “why.”

Day 2: The Learning Laboratory.

This is the crucial second step, and where the real transformation happens. We met the next day for a two-hour follow-up with one simple rule: no new slides. This session was a pure “learning laboratory.”

We moved from theory to action with a series of high-energy games and activities, from high-stakes survival dilemmas to fast-paced “Clutter Buster” challenges!

Information alone rarely changes behavior. It is the focused, deliberate practice that makes learning percolate and become a “template within.” It’s how you turn a lesson into a reflex.
